Session 01 Sighting lap

Built for the track. Ridden there.

S1K is a loose group of track riders who meet at Porsche Ring. The name comes from the S 1000 RR, but you don't need one to ride with us. There is no fixed calendar. When the weather and the track schedule line up, someone suggests a day and whoever can make it comes along. In the paddock we park side by side, share kit and help each other out.

Track days

Planned as we go

No season plan and no advance booking. A good forecast and an open track day are reason enough.

Paddock

Shared kit, shared hands

Warmers, stands and tools get shared, and there is usually someone around to lend a hand.

Riding

Learn from each other

Compare laps, look at tyres together and swap tips between sessions. Everyone rides at their own pace.

Every day at the circuit leaves a sticker on the screen. Next season is planned as we go, usually a few days ahead when the forecast looks good.

Before / after

Read the rubber

New slicks on the left, one session later on the right. Tear, graining and rolled edges tell you about pressures, suspension and the rider. We look at every rear together in the pit box before going out again.

Between rounds

In the workshop

Wheel swaps, slick checks and loading the trailer the night before. Most of a track season happens here.

Session 04 Pit wall

From the fence

Session 05 Cool-down lap

At the street

Slicks off, road tyres on. Evening rides, car-park meets and lunch stops, with friends on every kind of bike.

Session 06 Grid
